Scripture verse : Isaiah 40:28-31

Introduction
1. There is a time for everything. Time to laugh, time to act….Knowing this, God is the one who ordains people to be at certain places and time.

2. Solomon in all his splendors, wisdom and riches knows and understand there is a time for everything.

3. Having this in mind, we must not rush into situations or decisions without bringing it before the Lord. It is the Lord who guides us and lead us in our plans. God has a timing for us and because of that, we need to wait for His good plans and timing.

3 points about waiting before the LORD.

I. Why do we wait?
a) when we wait, we admit our weaknesses and depend on Him. We give him the permission to come into our situation and let him handle them. God is able to handle our problems (Eph.3:20). God is greater and has better understanding of our problems...so waiting upon him will allow him to come into our situation.

b) when we wait, our hope and expectations are from Him (Ps 62:5).

c) We will be blessed when we wait (Isa 30:18, Dan 12:12)

d) We will experience His goodness (Lamentations 3:24-26)

e) We shall not be ashamed (Ps 25:3, Isa 49:23)

f) We shall renew our strength (Isa 40:31)

g) We shall inherit the earth (Ps 37:9)

h) We shall be saved (Prov 20:22, Isa 25:9)

i) We shall rejoice (Isa 25:9)

j) We shall receive the glorious things prepared by God for us (Isa 64:4).


II. What happens as we wait?
A. As we wait, God provides with all that we need and ask (Jer 14:22)

B. God will guide and teach us (Ps. 25;5)


III. How should we wait?
A. With an earnest desire (Ps 103:6)
B. With patience (Ps 37:7, 40:1)
C. With hope in His Word (Ps 103:5)
D. With full confidence (Micah 7:7)


Bear in mind that when we wait, our patience will be and often be tried. It is in those times when our character is molded. Our true self comes out in waiting times. It is then that we see if we could actually trust God. Our faith will be strengthened as we wait.
